Easter Photography Competition - Win tickets to meet Michael Morpurgo!!!

13th Apr 2017

How would you like to win tickets to meet successful children's author and former children's laureate Michael Morpurgo?

He will be visiting Seamus Heaney Homeplace in Bellaghy on Sunday 30th April at 5pm. He was a friend of Seamus Heaney, and for this special event he talks about his work, his love of poetry and Heaney himself. He has written over 140 children's stories including many that were turned into movies, including 'War Horse' the 1982 novel that also became an international stage hit.

Many of the children in New Row count Michael Morpurgo as one of their favourite authors and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet him in person. This is a sold out event and this fantastic prize will include tickets for one adult and two children.

The competition can be entered by any of our Y4, 5, 6 and 7 pupils. To enter the competition simply ask someone to take a photograph of you reading somewhere interesting over the Easter holidays. You can be reading any novel and even better if it's by Michael Morpurgo! Perhaps this interesting place will be a beach you visit;  a play park; under a leafy tree; or simply in your favourite reading spot. The choice is yours...so get creative!!!

All entries must be emailed to kmcelroy543@c2kni.net or printed on A4 printing paper and submitted to our school Literacy Co-ordinator Mr McIver before Wednesday 26th April. We look forward to seeing all your photographs!!!
