New Row Primary School, Castledawson

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig @ New Row

18th Mar 2016

All children and parents enjoyed 'ceol agus craic' at our special assembly which celebrated St Patrick's day.

The Primary threes opened the assembly with St Patrick's prayer. Then there was a wonderful display of the musical talents  of New Row as the tinwhistles, violins, guitars, flutes and clarinets entertained everyone with some beautiful Irish tunes. They were accompanied by student teacher Mr McCrystal who also sang 'The Rattling Bog' with a lively chorus of children clapping their hands and stamping their feet.

The primary threes also performed an acrostic poem about Ireland and a lovely poem about 'Five Little Shamrocks'. Then it was the turn of the Irish dancers and children from primary 1 up to primary 7 danced reels, jigs and heavy jigs together and the talent was amazing. The primary fives finished the assembly with a song in Irish.

Congratulations to all our performers and everyone who helped out. Many thanks also to all who came along to enjoy the performances.

Definately #bestschool or #scoilisfearr!
